Sandals are the trademark summer footwear, and the variety in styles available today is endless. And despite the cheaper prices of sandals as opposed to most other shoes, there are still certain things you want to take into consideration before hauling home a bagful in every color.
1) Comfort. Making sure you're comfortable in your shoes is always the most important factor when shoe shopping, but it's especially important here. The number one cause of pain in your summer soles is blisters. Check that it has suede or leather lined straps, as that will prevent chafing. Stay away from huge platform sandals, as they are not only heavy and will cause undue stress on your feet, but will typically look quite silly.

2) Heels versus flats. Both styles are desirable for different summer looks, but take into consideration the practicality of it. A pair of Old Navy flip flops are great for going to the beach, but not so great for a summer wedding. A pair of strappy sandals with a two inch heel would be much more complimentary to a summer gown. Purchase a few pairs of both for a nice balance that will keep you prepared for anything.
3) Thongs versus slides. You might love the look of a heeled thong with jewels that complement your feet perfectly, but you have to think long term how comfortable are those going to be once you've been in them for a couple hours? They might be perfect for dinner with your husband, but not so great for walking around New York City for a day. A pair of slides are great, because they have no possibility for chaffing, unless they have no lining and the plastic cuts into your feet. Purchase wisely and weigh the consequences.
4) Flats. They don't have to be boring! Toss out the wide band flats and find a pair with delicate straps, or a toe ring. If you see a pair that screams "exotic vacation", you should probably give them a chance. Not only will they look sexier, they'll feel much better in the long run.
Additionally, be smart when you wear your sandals. Don't wear a pair of suede sling backs in the pouring rain, or your favorite stilettos for a walk on the beach. Choose the ring shoes for the right occasions, and your feet will be sizzling this summer!
Not sure about the latest women’s shoes trends for this summer? No problem! The good news is that you don’t need to opt for the greatest designer shoes in order you get that perfect look this summer, since there are wide ranges of affordable and chic women’s shoes that have the same style as the designer ones. Plus, you might go back to the shoes you used to wear some years ago (or many, many years ago). Here are the top 5 women’s shoes you have to wear this summer!
1. Platforms. Shoes with oversized platforms present quite an interesting fashion history. They were very strong hits back 4 years ago, then they went in the shadow, but they are definitely making a strong comeback these days! Platforms were the hits of the 60’s and 70’s, so you might find some still fashionable and wearable platform shoes in your mother’s closet. If you are still wondering about these shoes, then you should know that the best ones are those which present wooden platforms, or platforms made of various materials and combined with textile fabrics, such as hard linen in vibrant colors or even glossy latex.
2. Flat shoes. Flat shoes are not only chic, but they are extremely comfortable, as comfortable as bare feet! Basically, flat shoes have been in fashion for quite some time now, so you don’t need to throw away the pairs you used to wear during the previous seasons – but in order to be in the latest trends, you have got to opt for metallic flat shoes, especially golden and copper-colored for the evening and for plain white, cream or yellow flat shoes for the day, for a genuine summer look.
3. Thick high heels. More precisely, the thick heels that represented the 1950’s – remember the old movies from those ages: the actresses wore midi dresses that accentuated their feminine figures, short and wavy haircuts and, of course, thick high heels. These trendy shoes must some with low cuts, showing most of the feet or with delicate straps (not so much around the ankle this season). How to wear such shoes? Well, they are definitely more comfortable than the thin heeled shoes, so they can be wore during the day, too. Imagine this look: little black dress and red or purple velvet shoes with thick high heels.
There you go, it is not as hard as it seems, right? This summer, you can wear three very different styles of women’s shoes and manage to make a fashion statement and gain the admiration of the ones around you. Matched with the right outfit, these styles of women’s shoes are both chic and comfortable, both for daily walks and for your nights out!
Without a shadow of doubt when it comes to shoes the average female is addicted to buying as many pairs as possible and normally wearing them once before storing them in the bottom of wardrobes etc. Although In my experience some women try to wear them all at once which is obviously impossible but leads to houses being strewn with shoes from top to bottom. A leading businessman who said that the best place to open a shoe shop was next to another shoe shop was absolutely correct. I would guess that if all of the discarded shoes in England were rounded up and sent to the third world there would be more than enough pairs to go round. Its a fact that many women buy shoes to match outfits for special occasions and then never wear them again. Some but ridiculous unstable platforms which get discarded after their first outing.

I am always amazed when observing women in shoe shops and the stress and strain that is put upon the shop assistants with the chopping and changing of the customers minds in what seems to be a search for something they know they don't really want but are intending to have, when they see it. Twill be a good day for the womens shoe industry when the martians invade and their women folk turn out to be quadrupeds.
